Project Overview
A multi-modal freight terminal integrating rail, trucking, and air cargo operations into a unified logistics platform. The facility includes a 120-door cross-dock terminal, an intermodal rail yard with 4 loading tracks, and a dedicated air cargo processing area with direct taxiway access to the adjacent regional airport.
The Challenge
Coordinating construction across active rail lines and airport operational zones required complex phasing plans and strict compliance with both Federal Railroad Administration and FAA safety regulations. The facility needed to remain partially operational during each construction phase.
The Solution & Execution
We developed a 6-phase construction sequence that maintained continuous freight operations while systematically building new sections, with night-shift work windows coordinated with rail and air traffic schedules.
