A bespoke mountain home crafted from locally sourced timber and natural stone, designed to withstand harsh alpine conditions while providing resort-level luxury. The Alpine Retreat features a dramatic double-height great room with exposed timber trusses, a heated driveway system, and an outdoor hot spring-style soaking pool.
The Challenge
The remote mountain location at 8,200 feet elevation presents extreme weather challenges including heavy snow loads, freeze-thaw cycles, and limited road access for material delivery during winter months. The client required year-round construction progress despite seasonal constraints.
The Solution & Execution
We established a comprehensive weather contingency plan with temporary heated enclosures that allowed interior work to continue even during heavy snowfall periods.
- Engineered roof structure for 120 psf snow load with integrated heated gutter systems.
